Dani is a commercial litigator and retail banking lawyer who specialises in contentious financial services regulatory cases.

Dani’s experience enables her to seamlessly guide clients through all stages of their regulatory matters, including investigation, breach reporting, regulator engagement, customer remediation, process improvements, enforcement action and court proceedings. She helps clients meet their regulatory obligations, engage productively with regulators and efficiently resolve their cases.

Dani collaborates closely with our banking and financial services regulatory teams and her areas of focus include breach reporting, scams, customer remediation, responsible lending, superannuation, the anti-money laundering / counter-terrorism financing regime and legal professional privilege.

Dani is also a general litigator with broad experience in complex commercial disputes, in industries such as superannuation, building, technology, insurance, logistics and retail. She works closely with clients to resolve litigation and other disputes efficiently and effectively.
Through her time as a retail banking lawyer and secondments to a major bank and one of Australia’s largest car finance suppliers, Dani has a strong understanding of the banking/finance sector which informs her approach in assisting clients.

Clients have described Dani as “easy to work with” and a “breach reporting guru” and said that “her cognitive skills and intellect are first class, as is her knowledge of financial services law”. 

Background

Dani has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Queensland, and a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of New South Wales. In her Master’s degree she received Dean’s List Commendations for topping the class in 3 of 6 subjects.
