本稿は、豪州における日本企業のM&A取引および対豪投資の傾向に関するHSFの年次レビュー第4版である。
今回のレビューでは、日豪間の投資関係に前向きな動きが改めて確認された。新型コロナウィルス感染症の世界的大流行は、日本企業の対豪投資に影響を及ぼし、過去3年間と比較した2020年の取引件数および取引金額は減少したが、二国間の基本的な貿易・投資関係を変化させるものではなかった。水素、再生可能エネルギーおよびESG（環境・社会・ガバナンス）のような特徴的な分野を中心に、日本企業による対豪投資は多様化を続けており、日本企業の投資手法および買収後の統合戦略は益々高度化してきている。2021年に入り既に日本企業の対豪投資の活発な動きが見受けられ、今後18～24か月間において両国の投資関係が更に強化されることが期待される。
本稿は、2020年のM＆A取引および将来の成長要因について分析を行い、2021年以降の見通しについて考察を行ったものである。
